My kitchen. The basin on
the table served as her sink where she washed her hands, dishes, and vegetables. The blue
buckets were to hold the water used in the kitchen, using the small sauce pan to scoop it
out. Water was first boiled for at least 10 minutes, and then poured into the white water
filter shown in the picture. Although village friends cooked over firewood, PCVs used
