Elephant Looking in Window

March, 1995. When you live in a game reserve, animals are not in your yard--- you are in theirs! One afternoon after work I returned to my house to read and study. Approaching footsteps announced a visitor. When I looked up, an elephant had come calling. In the distance a tour boat watches the elephant watching me. That was the day I learned from an animal's perspective what it feels like to be observed by tourists on a game drive.
