Botswana

Uganda has two outstanding parks for gorilla trekking---Bwendi and Mga Hinga. Tourism into these sensitive areas is strictly controlled by regulating the frequency of tours, the size of the groups and the amount of time for viewing the gorilla troop. After several hours of hiking through dense jungle vegetation, our group of six was rewarded with an hour of observation of a majestic silver back, three adult females and two juvenile mountain gorillas. The exhilaration of the experience is reflected in my expression. I am shown here with the tracker (far left) and two Ugandan game scouts. Photo by Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Susan Ross.

Question: What does a Peace Corps Volunteer working in a Botswana national park do for vacation?

Answer: Why, go to a national park in another African country, of course.
