Ntane was a student at the Kiribati Protestant Church's youth employment program. The I-Kiribati people are Micronesian, distinct from the Polynesians of Hawaii and Tahiti and the Melanesians of Fiji and New Caledonia. Micronesians generally have straight, black hair and slightly more oriental features than the Polynesians. They are also a lovely, warm and hospitable people with a rich and vibrant culture.
